Matthew 28: 19-20

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Last day of trip for 2024

We had 3 clinic days on the island of Utila on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I was able to see a number of people on the island that I knew and I have worked with before.  It was a great time to reconnect and get to know a lot of new people.

We saw a total of 365 patients for the whole trip and gave out a total of 145 prescription glasses and well over 200 readers.  Everyone went to the evangelism station at the end of their time in the clinic and heard the plan of salvation as well as receiving the plan of salvation cards we gave them.

Below are some pictures when we had the clinics on the island of Utila. It is a beautiful island with some really friendly people living there.

Anna is learning how to do the autorefractor that we use to hopefully give
the patients prescription glasses.

We are on the ferry going back to the mainland.
This is the island of Utila

Saying goodbye to a good friend Nandito and
someone who helped us in the clinic

We got a chance to ride across the island to see the other side
after we finished our last day of clinics.

God has blessed the whole team by sending us to Utila to help the people
have a better life with better vision.  This means a lot to us to be able to
help these people.
I just praise God that He has sent me on 14 mission trips to Honduras.  It has
meant so much to me to be a vessel God can use.  Where He sends me
I will go.

Honduras Missions 2024

We have had a great 2 days working in clinics around La Ceiba.  We were able to see a lot of people and help them with providing them with glasses. Just a few pictures below.

Testing station above for the prescription glasses that I was able to give them.

Near vision station above for giving out readers.

Registering station above for those who came to the clinic.

It was great to help so many people by giving them glasses that will improve their daily activities. We finished off today with a devotion about the song Lifesong by Casting Crowns.  We should live our lives everyday as if it is our last and follow God's lead in our lives to help others whether it is in our community, at work or school or on the mission field. We have to work out what God has worked in us. We must do this through much prayer and studying God's word and ask Him everyday what He wants us to do.  The best thing any one can leave behind is an example of a life well lived through Jesus Christ. A life well lived is a life lived in absolute submission to the will of God. What will each of us be remembered for? What is our lifesong?

2023-Thursday - Last day of clinics for this trip

We have had a great mission trip this year.  We had our last day of clinics today.  We were able to help everyone who came to the clinic. The people who came to the clinic were so happy to get a pair of glasses that will help them see better. Every clinic day the people who came to the clinic were so kind and friendly.  We have also had a great time with the pastors in worship time.  The equipment worked great with no more problems.  That took some praying and believing that God was in control.

We gave out a total of 185 prescription glasses this trip.

Matthew 7:7-9: Keep asking, and it will be given to you.  Keep searching, and you will find.  Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Luke 18:1 says that we ought to pray and not lose heart.

Luke 21:36: Jesus said, "Watch therefore, and pray always.

Ps. 37:7: Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.

Ps. 27:14:  Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord.

2023-Missions - Wednesday 03/15/2023

Today we had an eye clinic for many of the local pastors and their wives.  Many of them did need glasses and it was a great opportunity to help them.

2023-Monday (Persistence versus Impatience)

We have had some problems with the autorefractor equipment laptop in saving and transferring the eyeglass inventory.  I have had to spend more time getting everything to work correctly and I have been worried that we may not be able to help the people with prescription eyeglasses. I started praying and asking God for guidance and a miracle with the laptop.  I finally got it figured out and everything is ok but I have been relying on my own abilities instead of trusting God and having faith that He will work everything out.  God was in charge as always.

Lately I have been reading The Battle Plan for Prayer by the Kendrick brothers. I have read the book  several times but a chapter stood out to me today.

Persistence versus impatience: chapter 19

Persistence is a necessary part of praying effectively. Whether God answers in twenty minutes or twenty years, we should never give up on Him.  In Scripture, God reveals that He wants us to trust Him patiently on our knees. He delights when we walk by faith and show our dependency on Him as we come before His throne. In fact, He may use delays in our life to reveal our hearts and our level of trust in Him. In the meantime, we must wait upon the Lord in faith.

Matthew 7:7-9 -  Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Luke 18:1 says we ought to pray and not lose heart.

Isaiah 40:31 - Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

I have to put my trust in my God who sent me here instead of trusting in myself. I am going to pray and not lose heart. God is in control and it is for His glory.

2023-Monday

In memory of Paul Roberts:  Today we went to several stores to buy shoes for a number of children in the area we have worked with before.  We will get the shoes to the kids this week.

We will be doing more eye clinics Tuesday through Thursday in different areas around La Ceiba.  Last night we went to church at Crusadas. I am including a picture of Bucket preaching. Great sermon.

2023-Sunday Worship Service at Harriet and David's church

We had an awesome worship time this morning. There was lot's of praise and worship music. Two of the Shalom girls did another praise dance. Joe Hastings preached a great sermon.

We went to lunch at a restaurant that a young lady owns who has worked with us years ago during one of our trips. She is now working on her medical degree in brain surgery while she owns and runs two restaurants. The food was great and we had a great time talking with her. Her name is Shashkia.

Me, Bucket and Linda will be going to another church tonight where Bucket will be preaching. The rest of the team went to the island of Utila until tomorrow afternoon. We have some other plans for tomorrow. We will be getting shoes for a feeding kitchen for the people on the street.

Last Thursday several team members gave out 25 pairs of shoes to Maria and Eber's family and some other families.

Sorry I don't have any pictures for today. Maybe I can get some later. Thanks to everyone for your prayers for our team.
